work available
Dec 2, 2011 (8:54 pm)
I want to add a tab on this site for collectors to easily view all of my art that is currently available for purchase. Here is an external link to a slideshow for now. Click "show info" in the right hand corner for details including prices. It doesn't include several miniature canvases, but I can e-mail photos of them to anyone who is interested when I get back to Texas this weekend. I will accept payment by cash, check, credit card, or barter. And, yes, we can work out an installment plan if that is easier. Thanks again to all of the people who continue to invest in my career.

It's official. The San Antonio Museum of Art has acquired one of my paintings, though it won't be available to the public until late November. I'm currently finishing a commission, and then it's on to New Orleans for what promises to be an amazing group show.

Whew. It's the last week to see my solo at Blue Star Contemporary Art Center in person. I recommend visiting between six and eight this Thursday for optimal lighting:
And be sure to visit the McNay Art Museum beginning Feb. 2 to see the tiny piece I did for this year's contemporary drawing survey.
At this moment, I'm working on a financial bail-out, something for Madrid (Spain) in February, and the Sala Diaz fundraiser this March. Once I'm back in the black, expect to hear more about Mexico City, MX; Guangzhou, CN; Montreal, CA.
Please let me know soon if should pencil in your city for 2011 or the first half of 2012.

mention in the current

the site's only been up for a few days, but the san antonio current has already caught wind of it:
Ed is a brilliantly talented artist here in SATX. with a brand-spanking new website on (in?) which you can get a good look at his politically impassioned, technically accomplished, deeply-felt work. Saavedra's work never relies on knee-jerk shock value or easy irony, but is instead animated by a spirit of gritty, thwarted romanticism.
